Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful grouping for US Navy Commander Daniel R. Harris. Harris had a rather successful career in the US Navy, having served with Torpedo Squadrons during WWII and on Attack Bombers in the Korean War. Unfortunately his career was cut short of his retirement as he was killed as a result of a plane crash in 1960. His body was unrecoverable though his final “resting place” is Arlington National Cemetery.
The visor is in wonderful condition with the expected wear and staining from serving aboard vessels and aircraft. The cap is marked on the top lining with ART CAPS MILITARY HEADWEAR NEW YORK as well as Harris’s contact card with his full name and rank. The visor is marked as being a size 7. The visor comes with the green cover already on, a spare white cover and an overall visor cover to protect not only the top portion but the visor as well. Both of the side caps are in wonderful condition with the expected wear and staining present as well as partial detach from the sweatband.
The grouping comes with a fantastic folder filled with research, a perfect starting point for further research! Comes more than ready for display.
